Environmental Policy

Measom Freer are one of the most respected names in plastic packaging and have nearly 75 years’ experience. The company produce a wide range of plastic packaging, with an extensive off-the-shelf product range, including plastic bottles, caps, measures, adjustable fasteners, scoops, spatulas and spoons. The company are also specialists in bespoke packaging and provide a printing service for bottles and ancillary products.

Measom Freer is committed to monitoring and improving environmental performance, pollution prevention and environmental protection. These aims will be achieved through developing implementing and maintaining an environmental management system (EMS) to phase 3 of BS8555. As part of the implementation of its EMS, Measom Freer has developed the following 6 main objectives which reflect its most significant environmental aspects:

  • Optimise the management of waste.
  • Reduce the green house gas emissions arising from the use of fossil fuel energy.
  • Reduce the use of hazardous materials.
  • Reduce the environmental impact associated with the use of suppliers.
  • Raise awareness amongst staff of BS8555 objectives and action plan.
  • BS8555 phase 3 certification. Achieved in August 2011


This Policy is communicated to all persons working for or on behalf of Measom Freer and is available to interested stakeholders, contractors and the public. The Managing Director is responsible for implementing this Policy and communicating it to each employee. It is the responsibility of all employees to implement this policy together with their collective and individual responsibilities. This Policy is subject to annual review to ensure completion of the objectives and targets and to promote continual improvements throughout the company’s operations.
